Sukhothai Fish Bowl

This Sukhothai fish bowl is typical of 14th Century Thai pottery. Heavy, with black iron oxide brush work over a white slip, overglazed with a clear top coat. The clay body is reddish with white specks. Five marks on the bowl show where it was stacked in the kiln with others.

Ancient Cambodian pinch pot

This pot is Cambodian, pinch formed, and super light weight. Has possible tree root marks or worm trails. Also could have spent some time in the sea. A very nice piece

Practice Demo tea bowl

This tea bowl is a mid fired stoneware with a 40% feldspathic glaze, the staining is caused by green tea seeping through it. This bowl was made for me to see the techniques used to form this type of bowl. Coil built and the foot cut with a knife. Traditional Korean style.

Hagi Tea Bowl

I bought this Hagi tea bowl in Japan some years ago, nothing like it in New Zealand.
